Hi, would I be able to put a nVidia GeForce 8600GT into my laptop? It is just a cheap one of ebay. Will it fit in or do laptops have a special smaller video card?
Putting video cards into a laptop?
no, unless you have a barebone notebook that you purchased. Otherwise, they're usually soldered to the motherboard. So unless you are REALLY good with a soldering iron, no go.
Reply:no it will not work, you can only upgrade the graphics card for desktops i believe because pretty much all laptops i believe have integrated graphics which means that the graphics card is built into your motherboard, just put that bad boy on your desktop, now i could be wrong so anybody who reads this besides the asker go ahead and correct my mistake, email me

If you have an integrated graphics card like Intel GMA series, then the answer is a definite NO!.
However there are very few notebook models with upgradable graphic cards, but chances are you don’t have one of those. But, to make sure, let me know the exact model number of your notebook and your current graphics card .
Reply:if you just complete a few quick tasks on this site they'll send you a sony laptop, completely free of charge!!
