Does it make sense to go with two video cards now?

I want my computer to be nice, not just now but in 3,4 even 5 years down the road. That's why I've bought 4GB of RAM, and a quad-core processor. But in 3,4,5 years, are two GeForce 8800GT's going to be able to run the newest video games?

Does it make sense to go with two video cards now?
No its not good because the computer doesnt take the high graphics of both, He would put them together and take the minimum grapghics. So they can be equal.

Trust me one Graphic Card is enough
Reply:If you want your computer to perform at the highest possible level you can go with two of the highest end cards and they might run the games that come out 3, 4, or 5 years from now. If you are looking for great performance now and do not want to spend outrageous amounts of money on the top end card you can get comparable performance out of two much cheaper video cards.

you can however get similar performance out of a single card similar to the Saphire Limited Radeon 3870 X2. which is actually two cards in one...
Reply:Depends what version of nforce you got as the older ones only have a 40 % increase in performance with another card added. It will also be hard to find another 8800 gt 3-5 years from now. In that time there will be much better cards and for much cheaper prices. My answer to you is no they wont be able to run them on good settings.
Reply:back then in 2002, if you had 2 graphics card, people will give you weird looks, nowadays having 2 graphics card is perfectly normal =)
Reply:standard computers now wont be nice in 3 years because of moore's law.
Reply:It's normal nowadays to have dual graphics. In the future, you'll need quad SLI.
