Are all video cards compatible in laptops and desktops?

I am trying to upgrade my video card for my Dell laptop, but I do not know if cards I am looking at are compatible. If there is a website that can tell me what is/isn't compatible with my laptop I would appreciate it! Please help! Thanks!

Nope, your laptop's video card is not upgradeable. I don't even need a model number to tell you that. When you buy a laptop, what you get is what you'll have, especially if yours has integrated graphics and/or is a Dell.





For future reference, notebooks use a bizarre and not always standardized system of interfaces for video cards, which is why it's never a good idea to upgrade, even if it looks like it may be possible.
Reply:usually video cards for laptops are really chips on the motherboard.....except if it's like PCI-X slot in there

Reply:Laptop cards are part of the motherboard, you can not change them.
Reply:I'm not positive that you even can upgrade a laptop video card, if you do, you're definitely voiding the warranty. But, with desktops, most video cards will fit if you have room and a good enough PSU.
