What are some video cards that support Wide Screen Resolutions?

I need a video card that will support a resolution of 1400 X 900 for my monitor

What are some video cards that support Wide Screen Resolutions?
I think anything you will find on the market today will support that resolution.
Reply:I would go to http://www.ebay.com and type in VIDEO CARD

Then you can ask the people there "does this card support this resolution".

However before you begin it is very important that you determine "what kind of video card" your computer has?

There are 3 kinds.

1. agp

2. pci

3. pci-express

So do it in this order

step 1. Find out what kind of video card (slot in your computer) is

To find out which, go to control panel. Then click SYSTEM

Then click HARDWARE tab

Then click DEVICE MANAGER button

Now look up the tree there and find DISPLAY ADAPTERS and click the + on the left of it and it will open up more info.

Then right click on the video card there you have and click PROPERTIES and right that information down. It should say something at the top what kind of card you have.

So find out first what kind of card you need. Theres a slot in your pc that holds an agp, pci or pci-express card.

FInd out what kind of card it takes. You can do a search on the internet on your type of computer and it will say what kind it has.

Look for the AGP,PCI,PCI-EXPRESS wording

Then go to http://www.ebay.com and look for agp cards for example (if thats the kind your computer is) and ask the sellers there questions. They'll respond back and let you know if the video card supports wide display.

Now also you want to get a fast card. There are slow cards and fast cards.

A good tip is if the video card can run a game called BATTLEFIELD 2.

Although you may not be into gaming this is a good "TEST" to know how good the card is. If they say "No it won't run battlefield 2" then do not get that card it will be very slow.

If they say "YES" then its a fast card and of course also ask them if it supports that resolution.

I would look for an Nvidia card as they are very reasonable and good quality and work awesome with xp and vista. Also visit the site below for other computer needs for free
