Can you run a SLI power supply if you arent using two video cards?

I will eventually get a 2nd video card.

Can you run a SLI power supply if you arent using two video cards?
yes
Reply:Yes. SLI has nothing to do with the power supply. It is a protocol designed by Nvidia for using two of their video cards. As long as your power supply has the proper power connectors for your video card, and has enough power, ie watts, then you're o.k. NOTE Some Nvidia video cards DO NOT have a separate power connector such as their low end 7600 series. Their higher end, ie the 8800 GTX or GTS and your power supply nust have the connector.
Reply:Wrong Richard.... You cannot go SLI with a 300 W or bellow Power Source. You need it to be at least 400W if I am not mistaking.

Yes, you can run a single card even if you have a power source for SLI. It is not conditioned of the presence of SLI . And yes, as richard said, SLI makes two Vid cards work together and not sum up but provide larger bandwidth for video data processing.
