Which video card is better for gaming between the 2 cards?

my motherboard is only compatible with ATI so which one of these two.

ATI radeon x1950 or ATI radeon HD 2600 XT. I already bought the 2600 XT, but i was wondering if i should return it and get the x1950 pro.

Which video card is better for gaming between the 2 cards?
Tough call between those two:

The 1950 is a faster card but is missing Dx10 (not huge now but may be an issue in the future) and it doesn't do High Def DVD decoding (again not an issue now but probably a bit issue later).

The HD2600XT is a good card and I have one myself but I would absolutely not buy it again if I had a choice.

The reason is that ATI just released their 3000 series and the HD3850 outperforms the HD2600 so badly it is sad. Plus at about $179 it is not outrageously more expensive than the other cards you mentioned. There is also a scaled back 2900 card at $149 which makes me wonder why get the 2600.

Tough call, but I'm selling my 2600 on Ebay and getting the 3850 myself. Something you might want to try---try the Crysis Single Person demo and see how well your card does :)
Reply:Get the x1950 pro , I'm cheap - got by with x1050 but that's because it was only 49 dollars total at circut city . My system only needs that much power to play my older games . However I read up on alot of cards from ati %26amp; others recently . The pro seems like a gamers kinda flaver to me
Reply:WOW, great question! Both cards perform exceptionally well... However, I JUST bought the HD 2600 XT less than a month ago. If is SPECTACULAR for my 2 Acer 22" wide screen LCD's. The two DVI connections bring crystal clear HD to both monitors. The one I have is 128-bit 512MB card. I am able to play two simultaneous HD movies without even skipping a beat!!!

Absolutely insane card is the HD 2600 XT. Of course, that IS going along with a Quad-Core Intel Processor and 4 GB of ram...

Also, on the gaming side of things, I have yet to have any degraded performance in the highest resolution or the second highest resolution of any game that my monitor can handle.

Most games, I play at 1680x1050. But some of the new ones that are absolute resource hogs, I drop it down to the next acceptable resolution and it works great!

I advise it would be one of the best investments you could make...
Reply:I think you should use the ATI radeon HD 2600 XT.
Reply:ATI radeon HD 2600 XT but check your psu i think you need at least 450watts
