Currently it does, but only certain motherboard allow that. If you want more information about how 2 video card can run at the same time, it is commonly known as crossfire graphic card. For more information about this crossfire graphic card by ATI go to http://www.behardware.com/art/imprimer/5... this website explain quite well how the crossfire graphic card of ATI works. Or if you are looking at the lastest technology. It would be the quad SLI™ by NVIDIA which support 4 graphics card together!!!But it is still not on the market yet! How can one computer have 2 video cards running at the same time ?
You can get an Nvidia SLI mainboard that supports 2 nvidia SLI video cards, they are a little expensive, but awesome performance.
Reply:New PCI Express technology offers 2 video cards that connects to each other using a bridge connector, running 2 screens.
Reply:one for network or video mixing with a monitor selector
Reply:Yup... the mboards with dual slots run two cards, and they split the load between them (just like having a computer with multiple processors).
Reply:If you have an old computer, you can run one on AGP and one on PCI. With newer computers, you will usually have two PCI-express slots to combine them for better gaming performance.
Original reason for dual cards was so that you can have dual-monitor support. Once video cards started to come out with two monitor ports, then there wasn't a huge need for two video cards. Then, video card companies wanted to make more money, so they came up with a way to combine the power of two video cards. On the rare occasion, people will buy two video cards so they can have four monitor supports as well.
