I was looking at newegg today and I noticed that some PSUs have "Supports SLI." Or "Supports Crossfire." My question is: Is this something they use to sell these PSU's, or does the power supply actually NEED to support your dual graphics setup? I'm assuming a PSU that only says "Supports SLI." wouldn't support crossfire?
Do I need a special power supply for crossfiring video cards?
For crossfire you need a master card, so it comes with the connector board and usually an power adapter.
You can get a power supply with dual connectors as well.
Depending on the cards, you may need up to 500-700 watts of power, so make sure you research that first.
